TEACHERS
INVOLVED IN PROJECT (Paul, Karen, Keith, Jacqui)
PAUL JENKINS
I arrived at Mayfield in September 1997 having taught in special schools
in three neighbouring West Midlands authorities. Originally a PE teacher,
I chose Special Education when my knees and ankles could not take the
daily strain put upon them. I believe that our children and young adults
learn both from identified learning outcomes and experiences that they
are introduced to during their time in school. This collaboration with
very local schools, which our pupil’s family members attend, proved
a quality learning experience for all concerned.
KEITH WINUP
Keith is head of the Continuing Education Department at Mayfield School.
He has a keen interest in accessing their arts for pupils with special
needs and co-ordinated a range of arts projects within the department.
He was involved in the departments first animation project, an 8 minute
animation film titled “Down the Plughole” made in conjunction
with Massive Message productions, Moving Hands, Stan’s Café
and musician Heather Wastie.
KAREN JARMAN:
This woman IS Ms Gifted and Talented at Holte. Arts Development Leader
extraordinaire…potty about pots, crazy about cats, dotty about doodling….all
this while creatively pioneering Creative Partnerships. The Jarman is
the ultimate subversive, dangerously disguised as a teacher!
Don’t be taken in – you have been warned.
JACQUI VAUGHAN:
The Year 6 teacher has an educational and social work background and working
in this inter-agency way has become second nature to her. Mrs Vaughan
feels that the whole project development has been an invaluable learning
experience for all parties and the finished product has great potential.
